Ako opísať obrázok?

Aj tebe sa stáva, že keď máš pred sebou obrázok a učiteľ ti povie, aby si ho opísal, tak povieš tri vety a máš pocit, že si ten obrázok vystihol, no učiteľ ti povie, aby si to trošku rozvil ale ty netušíš ako? Taaaak, teraz sa to naučíme. Čo vlastne tí učitelia od nás očakávajú a prečo je opis obrázka tak dôležitý.

Tento druh ústnej odpovede, ako aj všetky ostatné, sú úlohy, ktoré učiteľom ukážu tvoju úroveň jazyka. Ver mi, o jednom obrázku sa dá rozprávať aj 10 min. Stačí si zapamätať jednoduchú techniku ako na to.

Základné body:

• Najprv musíme povedať to, čo je fakt a až neskôr začať polemizovať
• To, čo sa deje na obrázku, sa deje práve teraz. Preto používame prítomný priebehový čas/ present continuous tense (He is playing football.)
• Vždy musíme pamätať na základnú štruktúru vety a.k.a. SVOMPT. Treba dávať pozor, ktorý vetný člen použijem kde.
  • je nesprávne povedať: In the picture is a man.
  • správna verzia je: There is a man in the picture.
  • čo znamená SVOMPT? 

Keď rozprávam o pozícii nejakého predmetu alebo osoby na obrázku, vždy to hovorím zo svojho pohľadu
Ak je v zadaní napísané ´compare and contrast the pictures´ nemáme hľadať len rozdiely, ale treba spomenúť aj to, čo majú dané obrázky spoločné 

Základný postup opisu:

1. Poviem, čo vidím a to, kde sa to nachádza. 
2. Detailne opíšem každý objekt / osobu – akej je farby, ako vyzerá, čo má oblečené
3. Opíšem, čo sa na obrázku deje.
4. Začnem premýšľať, prečo sa na obrázku deje daná činnosť alebo ako sa do danej situácie tieto osoby dostali.  

Základné pozície:

• keď sa na obrázok pozeráme akoby v 3D, môžeme povedať, že niečo je v pozadí a niečo vpredu
  • vzadu – in the background
  • vpredu – in the foreground 
• Predstav si, že tento obdĺžnik je tvoj obrázok. V ňom máš vypísané základné pozície, ktoré môžeš spomenúť. 

Vždy keď povieme niektorú z týchto pozícií, je potrebné dodať …. of the picture.

Základné frázy ako začať:
In the picture I can see… 
There´s / There are… 
There isn´t a…/ There aren´t any… 

Ak niečo nie je jasné:
It looks like a … 
It might be a… 
He could be… 
Maybe it´s a …

Picture 1:

I can see two people in the picture. There is a man in the background of the picture and a woman is in the foreground of the picture. They are in the kitchen.

The kitchen looks very clean. There are many vegetables on the kitchen counter, such as tomatoes, broccoli, peppers, and spring onions, and there is a bowl of salad as well. On the left and on the right side of the picture, there are big windows which bring a lot of light into the place. The kitchen cupboards are made of wood, which is light brown colour and the kitchen counter is made of grey marble. The woman is wearing a white patterned apron and a light grey T-shirt. She seems tall and she has long dark brown hair. The man behind her is wearing an apron too, but he has a dark grey T-shirt with short sleeves. He seems tall as well and he has short black hair.

The people in the picture are standing. The man in the background is washing the dishes in the sink while the woman in the foreground is slicing some tomatoes. It is a beautiful day outside because the sun is shining through the blinds on the windows.

Maybe they are preparing their lunch and since it may be hot outside, they might prefer something light and cold to eat rather than a hardy dish. It seems like they are either partners or a husband and wife, but who knows, they could even be a brother and a sister.

Picture 2: Tento obrázok skús opísať sám/a, podľa toho, čo si sa naučil/a.

Compare and contrast:

Both of the pictures are taken in a kitchen, although the first picture is a home kitchen and the second picture is a professional kitchen in a restaurant. The first thing that catches your eye is the different colour in each kitchen. The kitchen in the first picture is light, but the other one is dark. In the first picture, there are two people cooking together. They are probably home cooks, so they cook only the dishes that they like whereas in the second picture we see a man, probably a chef, who is not cooking for himself, but he is cooking for his customers who are waiting for their order in the restaurant. He appears to be a very skilled chef, so I think his meal is going to be delicious. Another difference that we can see is that the couple in the first picture are preparing a salad – they might be vegetarian, but the chef in the second picture is preparing steaks – so the person who is going to eat the food is not a vegetarian, but most probably an omnivore.
